We gratefully thank Laura Brennan for her help in doing a line sketch for our bulletins.  She has provided several drawings which we may be using from time to time.

West Shores Baptist Church has been supporting Operation Christmas Child for several years now. As of 2016, we are a relay station for collecting shoeboxes to be shipped overseas. Local churches and individuals in the West Shores area can bring their packed shoeboxes to the church. We will then place them in larger boxes to be delivered to our designated collection point church in Palm Desert. From there, they will travel to Orange County for inspection to make sure there is nothing which could cause problems with customs or that the contents are materials that will not spoil or break in shipment. 

Collection week is scheduled in mid-November. Boxes brought to the church should have a check inclosed for $9 per shoe box to cover shipping costs. Payment can be done directly to Samaritan's Purse online and then print your lable with a tracking code that will allow you to find out where your shoe box went.

Want to pack a shoe box but don't have an empty box handy? Plastic shoe box size boxes can be obtained at many stores for around a dollar. OCC also makes heavy-duty plastic boxes which last year were sold at Hobby Lobby. You can also get empty shoe boxes from the church while our supplies last. Call the church to make arrangements to pick up a box or two...or five or ten... 760-395-1003. You can also go online to www.samaritanspurse.org/buildonline and build your shoebox online for a suggested donation of $25.
